Multisec Modular Spreader Beams Support Firefighting Pontoon Relocation in Hamburg

Across Europe, Multisec Modular Spreader Beams continue to support complex lifting operations — from offshore projects to urban infrastructure. The recent project in Hamburg showcases how the Multisec system delivers precision, reliability, and adaptability in challenging marine environments.

HLR – Heavy Lift Rental, Multisec’s German distributor, recently supplied specialist lifting equipment to support the AUG. PRIEN Gruppe in the safe relocation of the firefighting pontoon at Hamburg’s Landungsbrücken.

The move formed part of essential renovation works on the Kehrwiederspitze quay wall, requiring the pontoon to be lifted and transferred to its new position at Johannisbollwerk, directly in front of Hamburg’s world-famous Elbphilharmonie concert hall.

To complete the lift, HLR supplied a tailor-made 1-over-2 Multisec Modular Spreader Beam system, configured with:

  • One Modular Spreader Beam: WLL 50 tonnes | 10 metres

  • Two Modular Spreader Beams: WLL 25 tonnes | 3 metres

  • Shackles: Various capacities (35t, 25t, 17t, 13.5t)

  • Round Slings: WLL 25 tonnes | 10 metres and WLL 15 tonnes | 2 metres

This precise and adaptable setup provided the stability, control, and flexibility required to lift and position the pontoon safely within the tight working environment of Hamburg’s busy harbour.

The project once again demonstrates how Multisec Modular Spreader Beams deliver reliable, configurable lifting solutions for complex harbour and marine construction applications. From bridge components to offshore platforms and floating structures, Multisec systems ensure safe, efficient, and accurate lifting – every time.
