UK Buying Guide
A practical buying guide for UK lifting projects: compare standard and bespoke Multisec equipment, purchase and hire routes, and quotation requirements.
By Multisec · Purchasing and engineering guidance

UK customers can contact Multisec in Middlesbrough for equipment purchase and bespoke manufacture. Hire enquiries are handled separately through Durham Lifting.
Speak To The UK Team
Multisec designs and manufactures lifting systems in the UK. The head office is at Britannia Testhouse, Romaldkirk Road, Middlesbrough, TS2 1HB.
For a UK project, include the delivery location and required date with your enquiry. Availability, production requirements and delivery arrangements must be confirmed for the equipment and configuration you need.
Choose The Buying Route
| Your requirement | Where to start |
|---|---|
| A configurable spreader beam | Compare the Multi-13 to Multi-250 modular range, then check the required span and rigging arrangement against approved data. |
| Multiple lower lifting points or limited headroom | Discuss the Multi-Point lifting beam range and provide the lifting-point layout and available height. |
| A load with lifting points in two directions | Discuss a spreader frame or adjustable frame, with the dimensions and connection positions. |
| Non-standard geometry or project requirements | Send the specification and drawings for a bespoke engineering review. |
Purchase Or Hire?
Multisec handles equipment purchase and bespoke manufacture enquiries. Hire requirements are handled separately through Durham Lifting. Confirm the available equipment, configuration, hire period and arrangements with Durham Lifting.
When deciding which route to discuss, consider how often the equipment will be used, whether future lifts need different configurations, and the storage, inspection and maintenance responsibilities. Request project-specific costs rather than assuming one route is always cheaper.
Compare Like For Like
When reviewing quotations, compare the actual configuration and included equipment, not just the headline tonnage. Check span, lifting points, rigging interfaces, documentation, testing requirements and the delivery scope.
DNV Type Approval applies to the Multisec Multi-13 to Multi-250 modular spreader beam range. Do not assume this approval applies to every bespoke beam or frame. Ask which certification applies to the equipment being quoted.
