Support Stool Questions
Answers to common questions about PackStool and JackStool capacity, loading conditions, jacking use and custom configurations.
What is the difference between PackStool and JackStool?
PackStool is designed for packing and support under evenly distributed loading. JackStool is designed for packing, support and controlled centreline jacking, with additional point load capability.
What is the maximum capacity of the support stools?
Both PackStool and JackStool are rated to 250 tonnes per stool under uniformly distributed loading conditions.
Can PackStool be used for jacking operations?
No. PackStool is not rated for centralised point loading or jacking operations. JackStool should be used where centreline jacking or point loading is required.
What point load can JackStool support?
JackStool is rated for a 50 tonne direct point load at the centreline, increasing to 100 tonnes when used with the supplied spreader plate.
What standard heights are available?
Standard heights are 400mm, 800mm and 1000mm. Custom heights and footprints can also be reviewed on request.
What material are the stools manufactured from?
The stools are manufactured from BS EN 10025-2:2004 S355 J2 steel.
