BESPOKE
LIFTING &
SPREADER
BEAMS
Multisec designs and manufactures bespoke lifting beams and spreader beams for projects where standard lifting equipment is not enough. From offshore wind monopiles and turbine nacelles to tandem lifts, generator installations and specialist heavy-lift operations, every beam is engineered around the load, lifting geometry and project requirements.
Engineered
Around The Lift
Bespoke lifting beams and custom spreader beams are developed for projects where standard lifting equipment cannot meet the capacity, span, geometry or operational requirements of the lift.
Every project starts with the load. Our engineers review the weight, centre of gravity, lifting points, crane arrangement, sling geometry, site constraints and operating environment before developing a lifting solution tailored to the application.
From nacelle lifting beams and tandem lift beams to generator lifting beams, telescopic spreader beams and offshore lifting systems, each design is manufactured, tested and certified to provide confidence for critical lifting operations.

CUSTOM LIFTING SOLUTIONS
Bespoke lifting beams and spreader beams are developed for lifts where standard equipment cannot meet the required capacity, span, geometry, headroom, lifting points or operating environment.
Rather than limiting the solution to a predefined beam type, Multisec engineers each design around the lift itself. This may include high-capacity lifting beams, long-span spreader beams, restricted headroom lifting arrangements, tandem lift beams, nacelle lifting beams, monopile lifting beams, generator lifting beams or fully bespoke rigging systems.
High-Capacity Lifting
Engineered lifting beams for heavy loads, critical lifts and demanding project requirements.
Long-Span Spreader Beams
Custom spreader beam designs for wide loads, long lifting centres and offshore or infrastructure applications.
Complex Load Geometry
Designed around centre of gravity, lifting points, load interfaces and non-standard rigging arrangements.
Project-Specific Design
Developed for site constraints, crane arrangements, environmental conditions and operational requirements.

Pushing The
Boundaries Of
Heavy Lifting
Multisec recently achieved a major milestone in heavy-lift engineering with the successful DNV certification of two of our largest Modular Spreader Beams to date.
The project included a 1,200 tonne Working Load Limit beam with a 12.5 metre span and a 2,000 tonne Working Load Limit beam with an 18.5 metre span, with provisions for future extensions.
Projects like this demonstrate Multisec’s ability to engineer, manufacture and certify bespoke lifting beams and spreader beams for applications that extend far beyond standard lifting equipment.

The Lift
Every bespoke lifting beam begins long before steel is cut. Our engineering team works with clients to understand the load, lifting geometry, operating environment and project constraints before developing a solution tailored to the application.

Rather than adapting an existing design, every bespoke lifting beam and spreader beam is engineered around the lift itself. Load weight, centre of gravity, lifting points, crane arrangements, sling geometry and environmental conditions are reviewed to ensure the final solution performs safely and efficiently throughout the operation.
Designed in accordance with Eurocodes and DNV requirements where applicable, each system undergoes detailed engineering analysis, in-house proof load testing and is supplied with full certification, documentation and material traceability.
Engineering expertise you can trust. Our engineering capability is led by industry specialists, including representation on the LEEA Technical Committee, helping ensure Multisec lifting solutions reflect current best practice and evolving lifting standards.
Need Something
More Modular?
Not every lifting project requires a fully bespoke solution.
If your lifting requirements fall within standard capacities and spans, Multisec also offers a comprehensive range of Modular Spreader Beams designed for efficient, repeatable lifting operations without the time and cost associated with a completely custom design.
Covering Working Load Limits from 13 tonnes to 250 tonnes, the Modular Spreader Beam range provides configurable spans, interchangeable struts and DNV Type Approved designs for offshore, marine, construction and heavy lifting projects worldwide.

Bespoke Lifting Beam FAQs
Answers to common questions about bespoke lifting beams, spreader beams, engineering design, proof load testing, certification and custom lifting solutions.
What is a bespoke lifting beam?
A bespoke lifting beam is engineered specifically for a particular lifting application rather than selected from a standard product range. The design is developed around the load weight, lifting points, centre of gravity, crane arrangement and operating environment to provide the safest and most efficient lifting solution.
When should I choose a bespoke lifting beam instead of a standard beam?
Bespoke lifting beams are typically specified when standard lifting equipment cannot accommodate the required capacity, span, lifting geometry, restricted headroom or project-specific requirements. They are commonly used for offshore wind, oil and gas, infrastructure and heavy industrial lifting projects.
What is the difference between a lifting beam and a spreader beam?
A lifting beam generally carries the load directly beneath a central lifting point, while a spreader beam works in compression using top slings to distribute forces across the load. The most suitable solution depends on the lifting arrangement, available headroom and load geometry.
What capacities can Multisec design?
Multisec designs bespoke lifting beams and spreader beams to suit individual project requirements. Our engineering capability includes DNV certified beams up to 2,000 tonnes Working Load Limit, with solutions developed specifically for each lifting application.
Can bespoke lifting beams be designed for offshore use?
Yes. Multisec regularly designs bespoke lifting beams for offshore wind, marine and oil & gas projects, taking into account environmental loading, operational constraints and relevant design standards including DNV requirements where applicable.
What information is needed for a bespoke lifting beam quotation?
Useful information includes the load weight, dimensions, lifting points, centre of gravity, required span, crane arrangement, operating environment and any drawings or technical information available. Our engineering team can assist if some details are still being developed.
Are bespoke lifting beams proof load tested?
Yes. Every bespoke lifting beam undergoes proof load testing before delivery and is supplied with the relevant certification, documentation and material traceability to provide confidence in service.
What standards are bespoke lifting beams designed to?
Multisec bespoke lifting beams are designed in accordance with applicable Eurocodes and, where required, DNV standards and other recognised lifting equipment design requirements appropriate to the intended application.
Can you design tandem lift beams and specialist lifting equipment?
Yes. Our engineering team develops tandem lift beams, multi-point lifting beams, telescopic spreader beams, nacelle lifting beams, monopile lifting beams and a wide range of bespoke lifting solutions designed around individual project requirements.
Do you provide design, manufacture and testing in-house?
Yes. Multisec provides a complete service from engineering design and structural verification through to manufacture, proof load testing and final certification, ensuring a fully integrated bespoke lifting solution.
