01 / Load

40ft Flat Racks

Heavy flat rack loads arriving from container vessels at the Port of Tyne.

02 / Challenge

Heavy Load Handling

The loads required an alternative lifting arrangement beyond the vessel's normal container crane capability.

03 / Solution

Multisec Spreader Beams

A practical lifting solution supporting safe and controlled handling during busy port operations.

Supporting a busy period of lifting operations.

Following a busy period at the Port of Tyne, Multisec modular spreader beams were recently used to support the handling of heavy 40ft flat racks from container vessels.

The flat rack loads were too heavy for the vessel's normal container crane arrangement, creating a requirement for additional lifting equipment capable of supporting the operation.

Multisec spreader beams provided the lifting team with a suitable solution, helping them safely handle the heavier loads as part of the vessel operations.

Applications such as this demonstrate one of the key advantages of modular lifting equipment: the ability to create practical lifting arrangements for changing load, span and project requirements.

Customer Feedback

Feedback from the team following the successful lifting operations.

“We are very happy with the new equipment, in fact couldn’t be happier.”

“All very well fabricated and we would just like to thank every part of your team who is involved in the whole process.”

“Next time we want beams, we know who to come to! Excellent equipment, thank you!”

Feedback from Port of Tyne
Behind the Lift

One beam.
One complete team.

Feedback like this means a great deal because every Multisec system is supported by people working across the entire process, from the initial lifting requirement through to the equipment leaving our facility.

01

Design

Reviewing the lifting requirement and identifying the appropriate equipment and configuration.

02

Fabrication

Manufacturing robust lifting equipment for demanding industrial and heavy-lift environments.

03

Inspection

Equipment checked and prepared before leaving our facility for the customer.

04

Dispatch

Coordinating the final equipment supply and getting the system where it needs to be.

Proven in the Field

Built for real lifting operations.

Seeing Multisec equipment performing on real lifting operations is always something we're proud of.

Port environments demand lifting equipment that can support changing operational requirements, challenging loads and carefully planned lifting arrangements.

The successful use of these beams at the Port of Tyne is another great example of Multisec equipment being put to work where it matters.

A big thank you to the team at Port of Tyne for the kind words, the excellent photographs and, most importantly, for choosing Multisec.
