Multisec Modular Spreader Beams Achieve DNV Type Approval

Multisec is proud to announce a major milestone for our company and our customers: our range of iconic pink Modular Spreader Beams has officially achieved DNV Type Approval, one of the most respected certifications in the offshore and heavy lifting industries. This recognition places Multisec among a select group of manufacturers whose equipment meets the highest international standards for safety, engineering integrity, and offshore use.

The certification, issued by DNV at Høvik, Norway, confirms that the Multisec Modular Spreader Beam range fully complies with DNV-ST-0378: Offshore and Platform Lifting Appliances, one of the industry’s strictest design and safety standards. The approval validates every aspect of our beams, from structural design and load analysis to material toughness, welding procedures, manufacturing quality control, and full component traceability. This ensures that each Multisec beam is ready to perform safely and reliably in the most demanding offshore and heavy industrial environments worldwide.

The certification applies across our full core range, from the Multi-13 to the Multi-250 models, with Safe Working Load capacities from 13 tonnes up to 250 tonnes. Crucially, it confirms that Multisec Modular Spreader Beams can be installed and used on any DNV-classed vessel or offshore unit, including crane vessels, pipe-lay and cable-lay ships, drilling platforms, heavy-lift barges, and floating production systems. This makes them ideal for critical lifting operations in offshore wind, subsea construction, renewable energy, shipbuilding, and heavy industrial engineering projects where DNV-certified equipment is required.
