Multisec Delivers Bespoke Offshore Lifting Beam for Enshore Subsea
Multisec has successfully designed, manufactured, tested, and supplied a bespoke offshore Multi-Point lifting beam for Enshore Subsea, supporting complex subsea cable handling operations and future offshore projects.
The project required a custom Joint Over Boarding Beam capable of managing intricate lifting arrangements while remaining adaptable for upcoming offshore campaigns. Multisec worked closely with Enshore Subsea to deliver a solution that balances structural strength, precision, and operational flexibility.
Beam specifications include:
Safe Working Load (SWL): 35 tonnes
Span: 15.5 metres
Lower lift points: 16, allowing varied load configurations
The Multi-Point Lifting beam was fully fabricated and proof load tested at the Britannia Testhouse in Middlesbrough, with certification to Eurocode, DNV-ST-0378, and BS EN 13155 standards.
In addition to the beam, we supplied a complete rigging package, including Green Pin® Tapered Pin ROV Shackles, wire ropes, polyester slings, chains, and cable grips—ensuring full compatibility and traceability from design to offshore deployment.
“Enshore approached Multisec to produce a bespoke Joint Over Boarding Beam, inclusive of all rigging arrangements. Multisec delivered on spec, on budget, and ahead of schedule,” said Henry Jemison, Package Manager at Enshore Subsea. “The beam performed flawlessly offshore and is future-ready for upcoming projects.
The beam’s first deployment was at the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm, located 15 km off the Angus coast in Scotland. With an installed capacity of 1.1 GW, the project will generate enough electricity to power approximately half of Scotland’s homes.
“Delivering a lifting beam that worked perfectly on its first offshore use demonstrates the value of close technical collaboration and engineering precision,” said Amanda Gardiner, Managing Director at Multisec.
This project is part of our expanding portfolio of bespoke offshore lifting solutions, designed and tested in the UK. Our company continues to support clients across renewable energy, offshore, and subsea sectors, providing engineered lifting systems, modular spreader beams, and complete rigging packages tailored to each operational challenge.
